Back to the HKS Classroom: Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) and What Leaders Need To Know About Them

  • Taubman Building, 5th Floor 79 John F. Kennedy Street Cambridge, MA, 02138 United States (map)

Self-driving cars, trucks, and other autonomous vehicles are already fundamentally disrupting how policymakers think about urban planning, budgets, public transportation, and mobility in general. Staying ahead of these rapidly emerging technologies and preparing the next generation of leaders to think through their ramifications has kept Harvard Kennedy School thought leaders in the fast-lane.

Step back into the HKS classroom on Tuesday, Jan. 29 to learn about AVs and the challenges they pose from topic expert Professor Mark Fagan, HKS Lecturer in Public Policy and Director of HKS’s Autonomous Vehicles Policy Initiative. Professor Fagan will discuss the impact of AVs on us individually, state and local policy responses, and how AVs are already impacting how leaders plan for the future.   Advance reading material will be provided.  No refreshment served.

Date: Tuesday, February 26

Time: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Place: Taubman, 5th floor @  79 JFK Street, Cambridge, Mass.
