Harvard: Women in Defense, Development, and Diplomacy (W3D) invite you to a panel discussion "Global Peace and Security: Voices from Israel and Palestine".

Join regional experts to discuss the recently signed Abraham Accords and other peace agreements, reconstruction and reconciliation processes, the role of civil society in peacebuilding, the importance of women in peacemaking, and more.

We are excited to welcome our guests to the panel and look forward to an enlightening discussion: 

  • Mr. Gadi Baltiansky is the co-founder and the Director-General of the Geneva Initiative in Israel, an NGO that promotes a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians through diplomatic, political, educational, and public tools. Gadi served as a member of the Israeli official negotiation teams with Syria and the Palestinians. During his years in Government, Gadi served as the Press Secretary of the Israeli Prime Minister, as an advisor to the Foreign Minister, and as Press Counselor at the Embassy in Washington

  • Brigadier General (Ret.) Israela Oron had a lengthy and distinguished military career. She served in various key positions, breaking through the great gender barrier. Oron was active in effecting women’s integration into the military and in ensuring the recognition of their enormous potential in contributing to the IDF.

  • Mrs. Fatina Jaouni Hodali is an advisor at the Palestinian Negotiations Support Project of the Negotiation Affairs Department on territorial issues, on the permanent status issues of borders and the settlement enterprise. Fatina was engaged in the production of the first regional plan for the West Bank and Gaza in 1998 while working at the Palestinian Ministry of Planning

  • Mr. Nidal Foqaha is the Director-General of the Palestinian Peace Coalition, a non-profit Palestinian organization that works on promoting a peaceful settlement for the Palestinian – Israeli conflict based on the two-state solution through peaceful and non-violent means.

Diana Philip, Senior Advisor-Government Relations, Dell will moderate the session. She specializes in public international law and has experience working in track-two diplomacy and conflict prevention processes with governments and international bodies across the globe.
